Utilizing Insurance In-Network

Insurance benefits are set by the insurance company and vary greatly across plans. Co-payment, co-insurance, or payment toward deductible is due at the time of service. I am currently an In-Network provider for some plans with:

  • Anthem

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield

  • Cigna

  • Evernorth

  • United Healthcare

Many clients choose not to involve insurance provider in their personal counseling. Here are just a few the advantages:

  • You won’t have a diagnosis label permanently attached to your personal health record.

  • Insurance companies have the right to request access to your health records when the audit providers or review your records. If you do no utilize insurance your records cannot be obtained by the insurance company.

  • Your care is not dictated by the insurance company, rather it is a collaborative effort combining my clinical experience and your personal goals. Insurance companies set time constraints, limit the number of sessions, only pay for certain mental health diagnosis, and so on.

Out of Network Provider

If I am not in-network with your insurance carrier and you would like to utilize an out-of-network plan thought your insurance I can provide you with documentations (a super bill) if desired. You would be responsible for the full session fee based upon your agreement with your insurance provider.

Cancelation Policy

If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours in advance. You can also log into the client portal and cancel session 48 hours prior to the start time. Failure to cancel less than 24 hours in advance or not addending your scheduled session, will result in you be charged a missed / late cancellation appointment fee of $80, which is not reimbursable by insurance. The fee will be collected with the card provided on file.

Notice to clients and prospective clients of Good Faith Estimates

Under the law, health care providers need to give clients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.  You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service, or at any time during treatment.  If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.  For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, or how to dispute a bill, see your Estimate, or visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
